Before getting to this weeks desktop, there's a couple of things I wanted to remind you about.  First, expect the next update to be on time.   Second, the previous weeks wallpaper is always still available by clicking the preview to the left found on this page.  Enjoy!

America, Yosemite National Park. This park was formed in 1890 to preserve this spectacular portion of the Sierra Nevada which contains staggering waterfalls, lush alpine meadows, giant 1000+ year old sequoias, and some very iAbove is this weeks free desktop. Back this week to one of my favorite parks and definitely one of finest parks in ntriguing, world famous formations of rock. Yosemite has inspired poets, painters, visitors and photographers, including my favorite, Ansel Adams. Now, one of the most popular sections of this park is Yosemite Valley, a glacier-carved canyon which contains a couple of very famous formations (El Capitan and Half Dome) along with several beautiful waterfalls. This weeks photo features a portion of one of these waterfalls, the fifth tallest waterfall in the world, Yosemite Falls. Snapped in June 2008 on the Yosemite Falls Trail about .25 miles past Columbia Rock, this really showcases the 1420ft Upper Yosemite Falls. The Yosemite Falls Trail is a tough 3.6 mile (one-way), 2700 foot elevation gain, trek to the top of Yosemite Falls, but getting to the spot of where this was taken isn't too bad with the first mile of the trail being the toughest as it contains some nasty switchbacks that climb over 1000 ft in that first mile. The view from Columbia Rock would be worth the hike by itself as it offers a staggering panorama of the eastern potion of the valley and Half Dome, but when you include the opportunity to view the valley and the upper falls, this becomes one you really need to consider a must see. Without a doubt, Yosemite is a fantastic experience, one which could easily consume weeks to enjoy all the possibilities. I know I'll never consider myself to have the expertise to convey the true beauty of this park to you, such is simply beyond my ability. The most I seek with my work is to give a brief glimpse of the wonders one can see here and hope you find a desire to expand upon this in person.
