This weeks shot takes us back to one of my favorite places I have the privilege of showcasing here, from northern Arizona, welcome once again to the Grand Canyon National Park - North Rim. I really do enjoy the weeks that feature shots from Grand Canyon, it is an opportunity to share one of the top parks in America with you and allows me the chance to relive the wonderful time I had here. This weeks photo was taken at Cape Royal looking south in June 2005. The prominent feature here is Wotans Throne. It's easy to see the weather was rather poor the day we were here, but it basically just opened up the possibility for a different experience. Even in poor conditions, the North Rim still offered a beauty which is hard to describe. The lightning and thunder from the scattered storms we had were interesting shows, and the cloud's formations gave us ever changing sight for sure. We were lucky enough to time our walks between the downpours. For me, it's simply not possible to convey the grandeur of Grand Canyon with words, photos or even video, the best any of these can do is entice one to visit and see this park in person. This place requires you standing on the edge looking out over this marvel to fully appreciate it. Now, don't take that last statement wrong, there are some amazing shots of the park, ones which can take your breath away, but they all pale to seeing this wonder in person.
